Turn in old circuit board for recycling?
The kilogram price for turning in old circuit boards for circuit board recycling is determined by the amount of (precious) metals incorporated in the circuit board. These metals are often not directly visible on the outside, but can be recognized by the components present. Due to our many years of experience in processing printed circuit boards and motherboards, we can roughly divide printed circuit boards into the following 3 categories:
Low-quality printed circuit boards
The low-grade circuit board is often characterized by a brown color and the presence of coarse components such as copper coils, transformers, capacitors and few if any computer chips or ICs. Another characteristic is the presence of attachments of iron and aluminum. They are often used as power supplies, in household appliances or old radios. € 0.50 to € 1.50 /kg
Medium-quality circuit boards
This circuit board contains little to no coarse components, but more smaller ones such as ICs and chips. These cause the amount of precious metals such as gold to play a larger role. The presence of attachments such as iron and aluminum is very limited. This circuit board is often found in computers, modems, TV receivers. € 1,50 to € 3,- /kg
High quality circuit boards
More complex devices such as network servers, smartphones, telecom equipment contain circuit boards with mainly chips and processors for computing power and fast processing large amounts of data. In addition, they must be able to operate without interference and are therefore often equipped with visibly gold-plated contacts. € 3,- to € 8,- /kg
